Midwest D16 For Sale... Updated March 3, 2018 |
Here are some photographs of my Midwest D-16, a 16 tube art deco console from 1935.
I purchased this radio online from another collector several years ago. He said that it had been restored, but I have never pulled the chassis, so can not attest as to what work was done. I believe the cabinet was refinished at one point. There are some imperfections in the woodwork and I tried to show these in the photos below.
The radio was played occasionally over the years, but served mainly as eye-candy in my home.
I powered up the radio a few days ago and listened to a local radio station. You can see a short VIDEO of this radio playing on YouTube.
This is a really beautiful radio. Enjoy!
